Danny told the band in their summer meeting, “circle December 3rd on the calendar. This one is going to be special.” They did not disappoint! The band had played the bride’s sister’s (Kathryn) wedding in 2018 at Astorian and knew based on feedback that the day Lexi got engaged they would be looking to find a mutual date (and the fact that Danny had to make up a song to get everyone to leave because no one would leave after the first encore performance as the venue was trying to clear everyone chanting “one more song” out). The band provided the ceremony musicians, a jazz trio for the outdoor cocktail hour, 16x24 multi-level stage, cold sparks, and 3-hours continuous play with the 14-piece band. All 14 band members were full-time musicians with the band including essentially all the same members that had played Kathryn’s wedding back in 2018.
