One of the most spectacular and magical 48-hour periods for the band ever! After a raucous wedding in Houston on Friday night, the band members took a morning flight to NOLA. The band was enjoying an amazing creole lunch at a picnic table at Lil’ Dizzy’s, they heard a second line start 2 blocks away. The band had the honor and privilege of seeing the second line process down the street where they were eating that was honoring a musician who had recently passed. This was such an impactful and heavy moment that everyone in the band felt so moved by.
2 hours later the band sound checked at Ritz Carlton and got ready for one of the most appreciative crowds and couples ever. After providing sound for the ceremony and Kyla & John’s personal second line through the streets of New Orleans, they entered the ballroom to the 10-piece band grooving on big band classics. One their fantastic first dance to Ray Charles’ “Hallelujah, I Love Her So” was finished, they threw out New Orleans hats to all the guests (and band members) and the band tore threw their three dance sets with nonstop energy in each.
